Tigers look to take 3-0 series lead in East semi’s as series shifts to Calgary

Apr 13, 2026 | 11:00 AM

The Medicine Hat Tigers will look to move one win away from advancing back to the Eastern Conference finals for the second-straight season as the Eastern Conference semi-finals shifts to Calgary tonight.

A pair of one-goal wins has given the Tabbies a 2-0 series lead over the Calgary Hitmen.

Medicine Hat has won eight straight games against Calgary.

Six of the last seven have been one-goal games, with the lone exception being an 8-3 Tiger win in their final meeting of the regular season.

Tigers 20-year-old defenseman, Josh Van Mulligen, played hero in Game 2 for his hometown squad, scoring the eventual game-winner 4:30 into the third period.

Van Mulligen has shown an ability to show up in the postseason, now with five goals over his 34-game postseason career, a stark contrast to his 15 career goals over 250 regular-season games.

Medicine Hat has split starts in games one and two between Carter Casey and Jordan Switzer.

It remains to be seen which of the Tiger netminders will get the nod for Game 3, although Casey did appear in six of the eight meetings against Calgary in the regular season.

Meanwhile, the Hitmen will look to avoid falling in a 3-0 series hole and corral their first win over the Tigers since October 10, 2025.

Puck drop from inside the Scotiabank Saddledome is slated for 7:00 p.m. MST, and the pre-game show gets underway at 6:45 p.m. on WILD 94.5 FM.
