Tigers aim to take a 2-0 series lead tonight against Hitmen

Apr 11, 2026 | 12:00 PM

Following a thrilling Game 1 overtime victory, the Medicine Hat Tigers will look to continue that momentum tonight as they aim to take a 2-0 series lead over the Calgary Hitmen in the Eastern Conference semi-finals.

Bryce Pickford scored a pair, including the overtime winner, to lift the Tigers to the 3-2 Game 1 win.

Not to be overlooked was the play of Carter Casey, who turned aside 29 saves, including an early Calgary breakaway in overtime, to help backstop the Tabbies to victory.

Hitmen netminder Eric Tu continued his stellar postseason, producing 39 saves in the overtime defeat.

Four of the last nine meetings between the Hitmen and Tigers have gone to overtime or a shootout, and all four have gone the Tigers way.

Calgary forward Ethan Moore has been one of the hottest hands in the Western Hockey League playoffs thus far, with goals in all five games, including four game-winners.

Moore scored the game-tying goal last night, helping the Hitmen force overtime.

Jonas Woo added a pair of assists in the Game 1 win, extending his postseason point streak to five games, while Andrew Basha added an assist as well, extending his point streak to six games.

Puck drop for Game 2 of the Eastern Conference semi-finals goes tonight at 7:00 p.m. MST from inside Co-op Place.

The pre-game show begins at 6:30 p.m. on WILD 94.5 FM.
