November 28, 1944 ~ April 8, 2026
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Charlotte Schafer, beloved wife of Roy Schafer of Schuler, who passed away at the Medicine Hat Regional Hospital, Wednesday, April 8, 2026, at the age of 81 years.
Charlotte was born on November 28, 1944, and was raised in the Bindloss area, where she spent her early years. After completing her schooling, she pursued her passion for beauty and became a talented hairdresser, working from her home in the country.
In 1965, Charlotte married the love of her life, Roy Schafer. Together, they built a life rooted in hard work and dedication, farming in the Schuler area and creating a home filled with love and resilience. She was a devoted wife, mother and special grandma to her wonderful grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Charlotte took great pride in her appearance and was known for her keen sense of style, always complemented by her love of accessories. She thoroughly enjoyed her work at Northern Reflections in the Medicine Hat Mall, where her warm personality and eye for fashion left a lasting impression on those she met.
Charlotte had a deep love for animals, especially her cherished cats, and found joy in life’s simple pleasures, including many happy hours spent playing bingo. She spent countless hours over many years at various rinks not only curling herself but watching Roy and her 3 kids curling competitively. They also ran the Schuler curling clubs for years where she was known for her pies. She was a caring and giving person who devoted herself to her family, always ready to lend a helping hand and offer her support.
Charlotte will be lovingly remembered for her kindness, her strength, and the care she showed to those around her. She leaves behind a legacy of love that will be cherished by all who knew her. Charlotte will be remembered by her husband, Roy; daughter, Tammy Foster (Tim Minor) and her daughter, Charley; two sons, Terry Schafer and Sheldon Schafer (Camara) and their family, Kailey (Austin) and their children, Lennon and Beckett; and Kaige; special family by choice, Cody Both and his son, Noah; brothers, Larry (Terry) Sturm and Marty (Peggy) Sturm; sisters-in-law, Leona (Dennis) Schuler and Tillie Schafer as well as nieces, nephews and other relatives. She was predeceased by her parents, Victor and Ingrid Sturm; parents-in-law, Frank and Pauline Schafer and a brother-in-law, Leo Schafer.
