Medicine Hat Tigers title defence continues tonight against the Calgary Hitmen
The Medicine Hat Tigers title defence continues tonight as they begin the second round of the Western Hockey League playoffs against their Central Division rival, the Calgary Hitmen.
The Tabbies advanced to the Eastern Conference semi-finals following a five-game series against the Regina Pats, while the Hitmen swept the Brandon Wheat Kings in four games.
In the regular season, the Tigers won seven of the eight meetings against the Hitmen, but four of those eight games were decided by one goal, with three requiring overtime or a shootout.
This will be the first postseason meeting between the two Highway 1 rivals since 2015, when the Hitmen defeated the Tigers in five games, also in the second round.
