YMCA of Southeastern Alberta launches annual Y Connect Campaign in Medicine Hat

Apr 6, 2026 | 12:35 PM

The YMCA of Southeastern Alberta is proud to launch its annual Y Connect Campaign from April 1 to June 30, 2026.

Previously known as Strong Kids, the community‑driven fundraising initiative ensures that children, families, and individuals, regardless of income, background, or circumstance, can access YMCA programs, day camps, and life‑shaping experiences.

Sharon Hayward, CEO, says the Y Connect Campaign aims to remove financial barriers so more people can access programs, with donations helping open opportunities for individuals and families to learn, grow and thrive.

Hayward said every dollar raised through the campaign stays local, directly supporting people across Southeastern Alberta.

The YMCA is calling on the community to help ensure access to its programs regardless of financial situations, making it possible for children to attend camp, for families to stay active and connected, and for people of all ages to find a place where they belong.

The organization is encouraging community members to donate to help build a stronger, healthier and more inclusive community.

Donations can be made in person at the Downtown or South Ridge YMCA locations, or online at the YMCA’s website.
