During Friday’s game, things weren’t looking great for the Cubs early against Sherwood Park.

The Cubs were down 2-0 to the Knights after surrendering a pair of goals on the penalty kill in the first period.

Halfway through the second period the Cubs would get on the board.

Captain Kyle Woolridge fired a shot from the top of the circle and beat Knights goaltender Caleb Muri on his glove side to cut the deficit to 2-1. Assists went to Mason Osinski and Ethan Burgeson.

Late in the second Mason Osinski would tie things up after receiving a pass from Ethan Burgeson. A pass from Carter Allan up to Burgeson went without credit for an assist.

The Cubs took a 3-2 lead on a Blake Girard point shot that found the top corner on a screened Knights goaltender. Makhi Carriere got the assist.

Just 32 seconds later, Girard would get an insurance marker to make it 4-2, as Jesse Klimosko found him wide open heading to the front of the net. Randen Collier also assisted on the goal.
