Easter weekend has arrived in Medicine Hat with several focused events taking place. There is also more clarity on when golf courses are opening.

On Thursday, about 2 to 4 cm of snow and possibly about 5 mm of rainfall. Up to 10 cm of snowfall is possible in the area. Winds are expected to gust up to 50 km/h this afternoon. The temperature is falling to 1 C in the afternoon. The snow is expected to end before morning, turning to clouds. A low of -1 C and a wind chill of -5 C overnight.

On Friday, the sky is expected to clear with a high of 8 C and a nighttime low of -1 C.

Then on Saturday, the expectation is a sunny sky and a high of 9 C. Increasing cloudiness in the evening and a low of -1 C.

Here is what’s on this weekend in Medicine Hat.

🏌 Golfing Season

ONGOING

Paradise Valley Golf Course welcomed the first golfers of the 2026 season in Medicine Hat on Tuesday and will stay open pending weather. The Toptracer Range stays open throughout the year.

Cottonwood Coulee Golf Course is scheduled to open its driving range on Saturday, and the course on April 10.

Redcliff Riverview Golf Course is expected to have a better idea of opening by Tuesday.

Connaught Golf Club is set to open the driving range on Saturday at 11 a.m., with the course set to open next Wednesday at 10 a.m.

Medicine Hat Golf and Country Club opened the driving range on Wednesday, and the course is set to open on Monday at 11 a.m.

Desert Blume Golf Club is set to open the driving range on Saturday at 11 a.m., with the course set to open on April 10.

🔨 Monarch Theatre closed for renos

APRIL 2-9

The Monarch Theatre is closed for renovations from April 2-9, with the next showing on April 10.

Galaxy Cinema at the Medicine Hat Mall will be the only venue with movies on the big screen this weekend in Medicine Hat, and the newly released Super Mario Galaxy Movie is expected to keep it busy.

⛪️ City-Wide Good Friday Service

FRIDAY

A City-Wide Good Friday Service will take place at Co-op Place on Friday morning, starting at 10 a.m.

Doors open at 9 a.m. for the free drop-in event held by the Medicine Hat Evangelical Association.

♣️ Game Night at the Kiwanis!

FRIDAY

The Kiwanis Centre hosts “Game Night at the Kiwanis!” every first and third Friday of the month.

Bring your board games, card games, or other tabletop games and enjoy the space to play.

If you bring only yourself, you can play one of the games kept in the centre or join in with someone else.

Entry is $5, with cans of pop and bags of chips available for $1.

Participants under 16 years of age are required to have a parent or a guardian present.

All funds stay with the Gas City Kiwanis Centre to help keep things running and in good repair.

The event runs from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. Friday at 826 11th St. SE in Medicine Hat.

🎸 KMAGYOYO at the Redcliff Hylton

FRIDAY

KMAGYOYO will be playing music at the Redcliff Hylton on Friday from 9:30 p.m. to 1:30 a.m.

📕 Activities at Medicine Hat Public Library

SATURDAY

The Busy Bee Playgroup for ages one to three takes place at the Medicine Hat Public Library on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m.

It’s a drop-in event where little ones can explore, create and get curious with loose parts play.

Some fun, age-appropriate materials for kids to move, stack, tinker, and play.

Children must have an adult caregiver present with them at all times during this program.

Pop Up Parks is hosting a Dungeons & Dragons event for teens aged 13 to 19 on Saturday from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m, and the following Saturday. Premade characters and dice will be available to all players, or you can bring in your own level 1 character. Online registration is required at www.mhpl.info/register, and it’s a requirement to be at both Saturdays.

🥚 Easter Egg Hunts

SATURDAY and SUNDAY

The Legendary Easter Egg hunt takes place at Kin Coulee Park on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

There will only be 100 eggs hidden, with a limit of one egg per child, to allow more children to participate. Once they are all found, the hunt is over.

Eggs will be collected as they are found, and one egg will be the ultimate legendary VIP egg.

The child who finds it will get an exclusive prize basket filled with goodies and become a VIP with The Legendaries Entertainment.

It is encouraged to bring your cellphone, as pictures with the Easter Bunny will be available at the free event, with tip donations appreciated.

Another Easter Egg Hunt takes place at Miller’s Emporium at 628 2nd Street SE on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

This event is a paid event with tickets available online for specific time slots.

An Easter Egg Hunt will take place at the Pet Valu Medicine Hat Mall location from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

It’s open for both dogs and kids. There will be 10-minute time slots to keep things fun, stress-free and open for all dogs.

There is a “Sniff & Find” hunt for dogs and a classic egg hunt for kids.

The cost will be $5 per dog or child, with 100 per cent of proceeds going to the Medicine Hat SPCA.

Each entry also includes a chance to win our prize baskets.

🐯 Medicine Hat Tigers

SATURDAY and SUNDAY (If needed)

The Medicine Hat Tigers host the Regina Pats in game five on Saturday at Co-op Place.

A win and the Tigers move on to the second round of the playoffs.

A loss, and they head to Regina for a game six on Sunday.

Puck drop on Saturday’s game is at 7 p.m. Will Bryant and Lance Doll will have the radio broadcast on Wild 94.5, starting with the pre-game at 6:30 p.m.

A Sunday broadcast would begin at 5:45 p.m. with a puck drop at 6 p.m. if necessary.
