Medicine Hat Tigers look to take 2-0 series lead against the Regina Pats

Mar 28, 2026 | 10:58 AM

Following a 6-2 Game 1 victory last night, the Medicine Hat Tigers aim to take a 2-0 series lead tonight on home ice against the Regina Pats.

Jonas Woo’s first-career playoff hat-trick helped leverage the Tigers past the Pats as a part of a four-goal second period for Medicine Hat.

The Tigers went to their penalty kill early and often, but wound up a perfect six for six on the kill, something they will hope to rely less on in Game 2.

For 13 of Regina’s 18 skaters, last night’s contest marked their first career Western Hockey League postseason action, something they will look to build upon their experience tonight as they try to draw the series level heading to Regina.

Jordan Switzer got the start and win for the Tigers in Game 1, making several key saves to keep the Tigers even or ahead throughout the night.

It remains to be seen if Switzer will get the nod for Game 2.

The same can be said for Pats Game 1 starter, Taylor Tabashniuk, who didn’t fare as well as Switzer, allowing 6 goals on 25 shots.

Puck drop for Game 2 of this best-of-seven series goes tonight at 7:00 p.m. MST from inside Co-op Place.

The pre-game show gets underway at 6:30 p.m. on WILD 94.5 FM.
