Jonas Woo hat-trick powers Tigers to 6-2 Game 1 win over Pats

Jonas Woo’s first-career postseason hat-trick capped off a four-goal second period for the Medicine Hat Tigers, who defeated the Regina Pats 6-2 in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference quarter-finals.

Shaeffer Gordon-Carroll, Bryce Pickford, and Yaroslav Bryzgalov capped off the Tigers scoring who scored the final five goals of the game en route to the four-goal win.

Jordan Switzer was strong in the net for the Tigers, turning aside 16 of 18 Regina shots.

The Pats offense came from Mathis Paull and Jace Egland who each scored their first career playoff goals.

Taylor Tabashniuk faced 25 Medicine Hat shots, making 19 saves in the loss.

The Tigers won the special teams battle, going one for four on the man-advantage and a perfect six for six on the penalty kill.

Game 2 goes tomorrow night at 7:00 p.m. MST on WILD 94.5 FM.
