Improving accessibility part of Medicine Hat Catholic Board of Education fundraising effort
The Medicine Hat Catholic Board of Education has a campaign underway to cover the $5 million needed for added features at the future Holy Trinity Academy to improve accessibility and function.
Extra funding will help cover upgrades beyond the amount received from the provincial government, including upgrading to two full-sized gyms and an accessible playground, and more.
The board is offering naming rights for different areas of the school as part of the fundraising effort, with a variety of options available.
The total school budget sits at $70 million, with the Alberta government covering $65 million of those costs. The $5 million in additional funding is projected to be covered through $4.1 million in sponsorship, $300,000 in grants, $100,000 in fundraising events, and $500,000 through the sale of the former St. Louis School site.
