1935~ Christina Frey ~2026
Surrounded by family, Christina “Tina” Frey passed away at Good Samaritan’s Society, on March 5, 2026, at the age of 90 years. Christina was predeceased by her husband of 63 years, Peter; her parents, Peter and Katherine Miller; her sister, Regina (Derwood) Gieb; brother, Louis (Anna) Miller; and her brothers-in-law, Lawson McKinley and Frank Meyer. She will be lovingly remembered and forever cherished by her children, Darlene Frey, Darcy (Bernie) Frey, Dwayne (Terry) Frey; grandchildren Jenine (Mark) McInnis, Korin (James) Fisher, Jarett (Shelisa) Frey, Jenna-Lee (Matt) Dykstra, and Lisa Frey; great grandchildren Tyler (Paige Babiy) McInnis, Cortney (Lane) Cartier, Ethan Fisher, Jaxon Fisher; and great great grandchildren Paxton Frey, Rylee Frey, Freya Dykstra, Brodie Babiy, and Braelyn McInnis. Tina will also be greatly missed by her siblings, Gladys McKinley, Mary Meyer, and Ken (Gail) Miller. Christina was born on June 29, 1935, in Fox Valley, Saskatchewan, to her parents, Peter and Katherine Miller. She married Peter Frey on July 11, 1953. They farmed for many years near Seven Persons. While farming, she worked at Maple Leaf Mills. When they sold their farm and moved to Medicine Hat in the late eighties, she cleaned homes and worked at We Care. Tina loved her family very much and always looked forward to family gatherings and babysitting her grandchildren. She looked forward to camping in their motorhome and fishing with their many friends. Her hobbies included playing bingo, golfing, dancing, jigsaw puzzles, and she was an avid Tiger’s fan. Tina left behind a legacy of love and countless cherished memories with the many lives she touched. Her family extends heartfelt thanks for the care provided by Masterpiece Southlands, Good Samaritan, Dr. Mohanraj, Dr. Sissions, and Dr. Dirker. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society, 412-3 Street SE, Medicine Hat, AB, T1A 0H1 or Heart and Stroke Foundation, PO Box 460 STN K, Toronto, ON M4P 9Z9. A public viewing will be held on Friday, March 13, from 7:00-9:00 pm at Saamis Memorial Funeral Chapel. The funeral service will be held at Saamis Memorial Funeral Chapel on Saturday, March 14, 2026, at 1:00 pm with Father Fernando Genogaling, Celebrant. If unable to attend, family and friends are welcome to participate via livestream by logging on to www.saamis.com and joining the live webcast on Christina’s memorial page at the above date and time.
