Medicine Hat Tigers hang 11 on the Regina Pats in blowout victory

Mar 3, 2026 | 9:48 PM

Seven different Medicine Hat Tigers found the back of the net while Liam Ruck added his first career hat-trick in an 11-2 blowout of the Regina Pats.

20-year-old defenseman Josh Van Mulligen netted a pair in the first multi-goal game of his career while adding an assist en route to being named the game’s first star.

All but one Medicine Hat skater recorded at least one point in the win.

Forward-turned defenseman Dayton Reschny added three assists for the Tabbies and was named the game’s third star.

Kade Stengrim also netted a pair of goals for Medicine Hat, including the final goal of the night, which came with 25 seconds remaining.

Bryce Pickford extended his goal-scoring streak to five games after striking for the game’s opening tally.

Luke Cozens, Cam Parr, and Andrew Basha all added singles in the win.

Despite the lopsided scoreline, Carter Casey was stellar, making 28 saves for the Tigers.

Casey made several breakaway saves early in the first period when the game was still within reach for Regina to allow the Tigers the time to get their offense alive.

The win marks the tenth time this season the Tigers have scored eight or more goals, having done so now in five of their last ten games.

All ten games with eight or more goals have come over the club’s last 35 games (November 28th, 2025), and all have come in wins.

Taylor Tabashniuk got hung with the loss for Regina, allowing eight goals on 27 shots in two periods of action.

Marek Schlenker relieved Tabashniuk in the third and allowed three goals on 16 shots.

The Regina goals came courtesy of Jace Egland and Zachary Lansard.

Medicine Hat is back in action tomorrow night as they battle the Brandon Wheat Kings for the final time this regular season.
