Medicine Hat Police attend to injury collision at Gershaw Drive Southwest

Medicine Hat Police Service informed the public of emergency crews on scene at an injury collision at the Gershaw Dr SW and Highway 1 interchange through a social media post on Monday at 7:46 p.m.

Police stated that there was infrastructure damage at the location.

They later updated that the scene was cleared, and a 53-year-old male was in custody facing several charges.

Those include dangerous driving, refusal to comply with a breath demand, and traffic safety-related charges for failing to comply with driver responsibilities involved in a motor vehicle collision.

The name of the driver was not released as the charges have not yet been sworn to in court.

Police stated that reported injuries are non‑life‑threatening.

City of Medicine Hat Electrical Utilities remained at the scene to conduct repairs to power and light standards.
