Mounties charge two individuals from Bow Island with possession of stolen property

A 44-year-old man and a 33-year-old woman from Bow Island have been charged with possession of stolen property, with the man facing an additional trafficking charge.

Bow Island RCMP initiated an investigation on Jan. 19, 2026, after the alleged victim of a break and enter 2-4 weeks prior in Forty Mile County discovered that his property was for sale on Kijiji.

Items RCMP say were stolen by the suspects include dirt bikes, tools, and various vehicle parts.

The victim located the buyer, and police determined that the buyer had no knowledge of the break and enter.

He then provided information to the police to assist in the investigation.

The RCMP executed a search warrant in the Town of Bow Island on Jan. 25, 2026, where they recovered a dirt bike and a vintage hood ornament belonging to the victim.

Nickolas Grunwald and Courtney Scouten have been charged with possession of stolen property over $5000.

Grunwald has also been charged with possession of stolen property for the purpose of trafficking.

After a Judicial Interim Release Hearing, both were released from custody to appear in the Alberta Court of Justice in Medicine Hat on Feb. 19, 2026.
