Jan 27, 2026 | 9:53 PM

The Medicine Hat Tigers kicked off their three-game homestand on a winning foot Tuesday night with a wire-to-wire 4-1 victory over the Saskatoon Blades.

The Tigers’ offense was led by Kade Stengrim and Markus Ruck, who each netted a goal and added an assist.

Kadon McCann and Liam Ruck also added singles to round out the Tigers offense.

The Blades lone goal came late in the middle frame to shrink the deficit to two courtesy of Hunter Laing’s 19th of the season.

Tigers netminder Jordan Switzer turned aside 15 of 16 shots in the win.

Evan Gardner turned aside 30 of 33 shots in the loss for Saskatoon.

Tigers defenseman Jonas Woo took a hard hit from Blades forward Triston Mitchell-McElhone and would finish the period, but did not return in the final 40 minutes.

The Tigers continue their three-game homestand on Saturday night as they play host to the Lethbridge Hurricanes.
