Jan 23, 2026 | 9:11 PM

The Medicine Hat Tigers never trailed until the final buzzer sounded as the Tigers fell 3-2 in a shootout to the Saskatoon Blades to begin their brief two-game road trip.

The Blades tied the game at two with under one minute left in the third period, with Cooper Williams 16th of the season from the bottom of the right circle.

The Tabbies led entering the third period but traded goals with the Blades two minutes apart from one another to carry the 2-1 lead late into the third.

The Tiger offense came courtesy of Ethan Neutens near the midway mark of the first period, and Andrew Basha just past the halfway point of the third.

Carter Casey was stellar in net for the Tabbies despite the loss, turning aside 29 of 31 shots faced.

Evan Gardner was equal to Casey for the Blades, only allowing two goals on 29 shots.

Former Medicine Hat Tiger Hayden Harsanyi scored the lone goal of the shootout to serve as the eventual game-winner.

The Tigers wrap up their brief two-game road trip tomorrow night in Prince Albert in the final game of the season series between the Tabbies and Raiders
