Former Medicine Hat Tigers player Bradley has been named to Team Italy at the Olympics

Former Medicine Hat Tigers forward Matt Bradley has been named to Team Italy’s men’s hockey team for the 2026 Winter Olympics.

Bradley, 29, played for the Tigers from 2014 to 2017.

During his time with the black and orange, he played 209 regular-season games and 38 playoff contests.

He had 168 points with 74 goals during the regular season and 11 points with four goals in the postseason.

Bradley played in the ECHL and American Hockey League before heading to play professional hockey in Europe partway through the 2021-22 season.

He joined Italy’s HC Bolzano of the International Central European Hockey League (ICEHL) at the start of the 2024-25 season, and is in his second season with the team.

Bradley has 39 points in 37 games this year in the ICEHL and has played three international contests with Italy, with five points and two goals.

Three former Medicine Hat Tigers will represent their countries at the 2026 Winter Olympic Games in Italy.

There are three other former Tigers who were previously announced to Olympic rosters: goaltender Mads Sogaard will play with Denmark, and a pair of defencemen, Kristians Rubins with Latvia and Tomas Kundratek playing for Czechia.

The 25-year-old Sogaard has split time this season between the NHL’s Ottawa Senators and the AHL’s Belleville Senators.

Sogaard played two seasons with the Tigers from 2018 to 2020.

Rubins, 28, is a member of HC Plzen in Czechia. He played for the Tigers for two seasons from 2016 to 2018.

The 36-year-old Kundratek plays in Czechia for HC Ocelari Trinec and played a pair of seasons with the Tigers from 2008 to 2010.

The men’s ice hockey competition begins on Feb. 11 and will conclude with the gold medal game on Feb. 22.

The 2026 Olympic Winter Games in Italy begin on Feb. 6 and conclude on Feb. 22.
