Late-game heroics lead Tigers to eighth straight win against Moose Jaw

Dec 12, 2025 | 11:08 PM

It was a rare case of hockey deja vu for the Medicine Hat Tigers, who, for the second time in as many Fridays, defeated the Moose Jaw Warriors in overtime with a Bryce Pickford game-winner.

The Tabbies forced overtime for the eleventh time this season with 21 seconds left in regulation after a Markus Ruck centering pass pinballed off skates into the back of the Moose Jaw net to tie the game at five.

Prior to that, the game had gone back and forth with the clubs trading goals and neither team leading by more than one.

Medicine Hat’s offense was kick-started by Shaeffer Gordon-Carroll, who tied the game at one in his first game back from injury after a seven-week absence.

Ethan Neutens, Kadon McCann, and Bryce Pickford would power the offense from there as the Tabbies carried a one-goal lead into the third period.

A pair of Warrior goals five minutes apart gave Moose Jaw their second lead of the night, a lead they would hold all the way up until the final minute.

Moose Jaws offense was led by Landon McFadden, who scored a pair of power play goals, while Aiden Ziprick, Ethan Semeniuk, and Steven Steranka added singles.

Tabbies netminder Carter Casey made 15 saves in the win, while Warriors netminder Kyle Jones stopped 38 of 44 in the loss.

The Tigers are back in action tomorrow night as the Swift Current Broncos enter Co-op Place to battle the Tabbies for the second time this season.
