The Medicine Hat Tigers begin their busiest weekend of the 2025 regular season tonight in Red Deer as they take on the division rival Rebels for the first time this year.

The two clubs split the season series last year four games apiece, but the Tigers won the final three meetings convincingly, by a combined score of 22-5.

Red Deer opened the season 2-8-0-1 but have been surging as of late, holding a 5-3-1-1 record over their last ten games.

Medicine Hat enters the contest with points in nine of their last 11 and five of their last six while coming off their strongest win this month, a 6-2 victory Wednesday night in Calgary.

Kadon McCann and Tigers captain Bryce Pickford each have been on a tear over the last two games, each putting up two goals and three assists, while the reigning WHL Player of the Week, Liam Ruck, has seven points over his last three games.

Liam’s twin brother, Markus, sits atop the Tigers in scoring and is riding a career-high six-game point streak into the contest with nine points over that span, including a pair of goals in Wednesday night’s victory over Calgary.

The Tabbies will have to watch out for the Rebels’ red-hot power play which has been lethal over their last five games, operating at 47 percent, recording at least one goal per game over that span.

The puck drops inside the Marchant Crane Centrium at 7:00 p.m. and the pre-game show gets rolling at 6:45 on WILD 94.5 FM.
