Elaine Parker
March 31, 1944 ~ November 14, 2025
Elaine Angeline Parker passed away in Medicine Hat while in the loving presence of her husband, Gordon on Friday, November 14, 2025, at the age of 81 years. Along with Gordon, her husband of 59 years, Elaine is survived by her three children, Tracey (Charles) Gerbrandt, Shannon (John) Carleton and Cam (Christine) Parker; five grandchildren, Dustin Parker (Amy), Tiffany (Brendan) Schmidt, Trisha (Jordan) Carleton, Bryanna (Bolaji) Parker and Sierra (Mitchell) Parker; three great- grandchildren, Link, Adora and Emberlynn; three siblings, Elliott (Helen) Guckert, Neil (Shari) Guckert and Connie (Brent) Miller as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Elaine was pre-deceased by her father and mother, Jack and Fanny Guckert; two grandchildren, Morgan and Jason Gerbrandt; nephews, Dillon Guckert, Dale Parker and Howard Parker as well as father-in-law and mother-in-law, Bob and Ester Parker. Elaine, Jack and Fanny’s daughter enjoyed the family life in Prelate. She always loved the music her father played as well as dancing to bands with friends. Following school, Elaine chose to train for hair design in Saskatoon. While continuing hair design, Elaine spent time as a telephone operator on the old community telephone system. Gordon moved to Leader where he worked as an Agricultural Representative. Elaine’s friend, George Hofart, introduced Gordon and Elaine as they were traveling to a dance at Mendham. In 1966, after getting married, Elaine moved to Leader and continued hair dressing and caring for her new family. The family moved to many places related to Gordon’s career. First to Regina for four years, then to Assiniboia and then back closer to Leader before work had him move his family to Pakistan in 1985. This was a good experience for them as they met many people from other countries. After 2 years, Elaine and her family returned to Swift Current. She appreciated that the family was getting acquainted with new friends. With Gordon’s retirement from Agriculture Canada in Swift Current, Elaine enjoyed getting to know more friends in Alberta, Valley View, Vulcan and finally choosing to live in Medicine Hat, where her brother and sister both lived. Soon after Gordon and Elaine welcomed her mom and dad (Fanny and Jack), to come and share good times in Medicine Hat as well. Elaine and Gordon also spent a few winters in Yuma, Arizona which they loved.
