Tigers set to battle Oil Kings with revenge on their mind

Nov 7, 2025 | 12:53 PM

The Medicine Hat Tigers welcome the Eastern Conference-leading Edmonton Oil Kings inside Co-op Place tonight as the clubs square off for the second time in less than a week.

The two clubs battled Saturday, November 1st, inside Rogers Place to kick off the month of November, where the Oil Kings scored three power play goals on eight attempts and defeated the Tigers 6-1.

After a week off, the Tigers enter feeling rejuvenated and ready to get their lick back against an Edmonton squad that has been hot lately.

Edmonton enters winners of their last four and begin an eight-game road trip tonight.

The Oil Kings have a staggering nine players with points in at least their last three games, including former Tri-City American Max Curran, who has 13 points over his last four games.

Meanwhile, the Tigers are coming off a narrow 4-3 defeat in overtime to the Tri-City Americans on Sunday evening.

It was the Tabbies’ first home game since the middle of October, but despite a comeback, penalty woes late in regulation led to the eventual Tri-City overtime winner.

After missing the entirety of the team’s B.C. Division road-trip, Tigers defenseman Jonas Woo has made up for lost time, recording four points, including three goals this past weekend.

Medicine Hat Tigers captain, Bryce Pickford, leads all WHL defenseman in goal-scoring with seven, while his partner Jonas Woo finds himself sitting alone in second place with six.

Medicine Hat Tigers 20-year-old defenseman Josh Van Mulligen is nearing a return to the lineup, having missed the last 16 games due to an upper-body injury suffered in the home opener.

Last season, Van Mulligen had three goals for 27 points amid the Tigers’ championship run.

He will be a game-time decision tonight.

Puck-drop between the Tigers and Oil Kings is slated for 7:00 p.m. with the pre-game show getting underway at 6:30 p.m. on WILD 94.5 FM.
