1927 ~ Verna Perry ~ 2025

Verna Perry of Medicine Hat, passed away on Tuesday, November 4, 2025, at the age of 98 years. Verna is survived by her children, Robert (Judy), Loretta (Don), Donald (Gladys) and Ron (Tracy); grandchildren, Peggy (Pierre), Dean, Mark (Christine), Robert (Kendra), Ashley (Luke), Chelsey (Logan), Corey (Ashlee) and Kristin; great-grandchildren, Harrison, Callum, Cameron (Dana), Courtney, Tanner, Connor, Cassidy (Josh), Nevaeh, Sophia, Abigail, Gabriel and Knox; great-great grandchildren, Levi, Ollie and Luke;  sister, Evelyn; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Verna is predeceased by her parents, Arthur and Jean Pols; husband, William Perry; great grandchildren, Noah; sisters, Florence Pols and Agnes Craig. Mom saw a lot of changes in her 98 years. From outdoor toilets to running water; from candlelight to electricity. She has seen it all, and not once did she ever complain. She waxed and stripped floors when she was pregnant with the twins in order to help pay the rent. She was not one to just sit around. She never had idle hands. She loved to crochet, knit, make Afghan’s, and did quilting. When she still could, she loved cooking Sunday dinners for family to all gather. The only problem was that Mary the Maid never showed up on Sundays to do the dishes after we were all done. She had a great sense of humor, which would come out unexpectedly. Loretta recommended she use a walker one day and was told “that’s for old people”.  She loved her family but also loved her peaceful time alone. A special thank you to Kristin, her granddaughter, who did so much to help grandma and visit. Also, a special thank you to Masterpiece for the great care she received from there for the last few years that she spent there, to 5 East and Dr. Majeed for the care and compassion she was shown in her final days. You were truly loved and will be deeply missed. Rest in peace Mom. There will be a private Memorial Service held.
