Nov 3, 2025 | 8:13 AM

The City of Medicine Hat and the Town of Redcliff will both be swearing in their councils on Monday during organizational meetings.

Both are underway at 6:30 p.m.

In Medicine Hat, Mayor Linnsie Clark will be joined by eight new councillors this term, three of whom have previous experience around the horseshoe: former mayor Ted Clugston, Bill Cocks and Brian Varga.

Clugston served on the council from 2007 to 2021, as Mayor from 2013 to 2021.

Cocks was a member of the council from 1998 to 2007 and from 2013 to 2017.

Varga’s previous experience around the horseshoe was from 2013 to 2021.

New to the horseshoe are Yusef Mohammed, Stuart Young, Chris Hellman, Cheryl Phaff, and Dan Reynish.

In Redcliff, the council will be a blend of old and new.

New mayor Chris Czember served the past two terms on the council.

He is joined by three incumbents, including former mayor Dwight Kilpatrick, now on council, Matthew St. Pierre and Larry Leipert.

New to the council are Bernie Bakker, Brandie Burns and Eric Solberg.
