Cypress County’s Neubauer to receive Alberta Order of Excellence on Thursday

Cypress County’s Nichole Neubauer, a family farm operator and education advocate, will receive the Alberta Order of Excellence during a ceremony at Government House in Edmonton on Oct. 16.

A news release from the province said her trailblazing efforts help secure the future of Alberta’s agricultural industry. She engages young people and promotes agriculture as a rewarding and essential career path.

Neubauer will receive the province’s highest honour alongside eight other Albertans during the ceremony.

She found out about receiving the Order of Excellence earlier this year.

“When I received the call it barely seemed real,” Neubauer told CHAT News earlier this year.

This year’s inductees bring the total membership of the Alberta Order of Excellence to 229 over the past 45 years.

Medicine Hat businessmen Malcolm Sissons and Bill Yuill are among those who have previously received the honour.
