CFB Suffield starts prescribed burns in range training area

Prescribed burns will be conducted by Canadian Forces Base Suffield within the Suffield Range Training Area.

Beginning Oct. 1, 2025, a statement from CFB Suffield said the prescribed burns will continuing through the fall season as conditions permit.

Residents in nearby communities may observe smoke resulting from these prescribed burns.

It’s advised that any fires observed outside the CFB Suffield perimeter should be reported to local authorities by calling 911.

Prescribed burns are conducted routinely by CFB Suffield under its Wildland Fuel Reduction Plan, to support safe training, and maintain operational readiness.
