One armed Medicine Hat golfer Jesse Florkowski has won a Fightmaster Cup as part of the North American team that defeated Europe.

Florkowski was one of two captains picks for Team North America.

“It’s a two year qualifying cycle, but because I haven’t played in the U.S. National Championship in a number of years I had to be a pick,” Florkowski said.

“I played in the Fightmaster Cup one time before on U.S. soil in 2016. Unfortunately, we lost the cup that year.”

He said that having played in a number of adaptive tournaments in the past and playing quite well, this was certainly on the top of his list.

He was the only golfer on the team not from the U.S.

“To be able to play for your country and teammates made it that more special,” Florkowski said.

“I’ll cherish the memory for years to come! Only Canadian! Which was extra special and more motivating to bring the cup home,” he added.

“Was a dream come true!”

This was also his first trip to Ireland, where the event was played in Dublin at the Roganstown Golf & Country Club.

“Was a truly remarkable place minus the cold, wind and rain we had almost everyday,” Florkowski said with a laugh.

He explained that the event is played just like the popular Ryder Cup.

“Exact same format.12 players on each side. Morning and afternoon sessions. Four matches per session. All 12 play singles final day,” Florkowski said.

The competition ran from Sept. 14-19, 2025.
