Vigen repeats as winner of WPCA’s Medicine Hat event

The World Professional Chuckwagon Association wrapped up its pro tour event Sunday at the Medicine Hat Exhibition and Stampede grounds.

Coming away with the top spot in Medicine Hat for the second year in a row was Chanse Vigen.

Vigen’s outriders where Rory Gervais and Trey MacGillivray.

The championship final heat featuring Vigen, Kurt Bensmiller and Rae Croteau Jr. was close.

Vigen had a time of 1:01.82, matched by Rae Croteau Jr. who ended up placing third due to a five second penalty to make his official time 1:06.82.

The 2019 Medicine Hat champion Kurt Bensmiller placed second with a time of 1:02.29.

The fastest official time of the day came from Heat 11, as Jamie Laboucane came across the finish at 1:00.29.

Kris Molle had a sub one minute ride at 59.26 seconds in Heat 4, which is believed to have been a first at the Medicine Hat racetrack, however two late outriders resulted in a two-second penalty.

His official time was 1:01.36.
