Brooks Bandits start Interior Conference Final with Penticton Vees

The top two regular season teams in the BCHL kick off the Interior Conference Finals Friday in Penticton.

The winner will play in the BCHL Championship.

The Brooks Bandits split their season series with the Vees at two games a piece.

This is Vees last season in the BCHL as they will be come a Western Hockey League franchise in the fall.

Participating in a WHL expansion draft on May 7, and in the WHL prospect draft starting that same day.

Leading up to the series the Bandits have won eight of nine playoff games, while the Vees have won eight straight.

Game time is at 8 p.m.

The Bandits and Vees have a history pre-dating the 2024-25 season.

In 2012 they met in the Doyle Cup, a best-of-seven series that saw the winner of the Albert Junion Hockey League against the winner of the BCHL.

Penticton won that series in five games.

Their next meeting was in 2017 at the Western Canada Cup in Penticton.

The Bandits beat the Vees 2-1 in overtime in the round robin, on their way to winning the WCC.

The Bandits again defeated the Vees at the 2017 RBC Cup 2-1 in overtime.

The Bandits host Game 3 and Game 4 in Brooks on May 5 and on May 6 at the Centennial Regional Arena.
