🐅 The home stretch

Saturday

Doesn’t feel like the season started a week ago?

The Medicine Hat Tigers are headed into their final four games of the regular season.

They take on the Hurricanes in Lethbridge Friday night at 7 p.m.

On Saturday, they play Red Deer at Co-op Place also starting at 7 p.m.

Tickets are available online or at the box office.

📚 At the library

All weekend

The Medicine Hat Public Library is hosting several events over the weekend.

A teen movie night gets underway at 6:45 p.m. and runs until 9 p.m., for ages 13 to 19.

The Busy Bees Playgroup runs from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Saturday morning, for ages one to three.

That’s followed by the age 18-plus Neurodivergent Young Adults Peer Support Group running from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

El Club de los Sabados is on from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Saturday afternoon.

Drop-in Family Day is on from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday. The library is also showing Peter Pan starting at 2 p.m. Sunday.

🦡 Badger nature walk

Friday

The Medicine Hat Interpretive Program is hosting a nature walk focused on badgers and why they’re important to the prairies.

It runs from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. on Friday, rain or shine. No registration is required and it’s free.

Those interested can head to the nature centre at Police Point Park.

🎮 Networking game night

Friday

Community Futures Entre-Corp Business Development and APEX Southeast Alberta is hosting a Networking Retro Game Night.

Organizers say you can connect with students, enjoy great snacks, and challenge your skills on classic gaming systems courtesy of Memory Lane Computers.

An event description says it’s a great opportunity to engage with the next generation of talent in a relaxed and interactive setting and celebrate PI day.

It runs from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. in The Den at Medicine Hat College.

The event is free but attendees are asked to RSVP online.

🎉 Irish party

Saturday

Travois Ale Works is hosting Name That Tune Bingo for St. Patrick’s Day.

Organizers say there will be Irish drinking songs and Maritine Kitchen Party music for you.

The Irish Stout will be on special.

🚔 APREP testing

Sunday

The Medicine Hat Police Service Recruitment Team is hosting an opportunity for interested applicants to tryout the APREP physical test required as part of the application process.

It starts at 10 a.m. on Sunday.

Pre-registration is required, organizers say. To register email Recruiting@mhps.ca.

📽 Monarch movie

Friday

The Irish comedy Waking Ned Devine is playing at Medicine Hat’s historic Monarch Theatre at 8 p.m.

Tickets are $5 cash. Any two items are available at concession for $5.

🪧 Protests at Smith’s office

Saturday

Protestors are once again planning to rally in front of Premier Danielle Smith’s constituency office on Saturday.

In previous weeks, the protestors have raised concerns over Smith’s handling of the AHS procurement scandal; her government’s deregulation of mountain coal mining; and the province’s approach to health care, education and affordability.
