Florists such as Fresh Flowers and Gifts, Beryl’s Bloomers, Awesome Blossom, Sweet Stems, Botanicals and Tilted Tulip Floral and Design provide all you need for that romantic gesture.
Nicole McNaughton, owner of Tilted Tulip, said that Valentine’s Day gestures don’t have to be big.
“It can just be small, like a small gesture, just to reach out to somebody. It makes anybody feel good, and I guess it’s just a day to remind people to do that,” she said.

The Esplanade Heritage and Arts Centre is hosting a candlelight dining in the dark experience.
It’s an interactive evening that includes art and storytelling, according to the event description.

Sammy’s Kitchen and Bar is offering a $139.99 per couple Valentine’s four course meal, at its new location at 1731 Dunmore Road SE.
Casa Amigos Cantina has a dinner for two for $80, promoting the first 18 couples through the door will receive 30 minutes of free axe throwing at Six One Six Entertainment next door.
Grit City offers a Valentine’s Menu at $42 per person featuring three courses, available from Feb. 13-15.
Ralph’s Texas Bar and Steakhouse features a Valentine’s Menu for two to dine for $90, including a starter, two mains and one dessert.
Rustic Kitchen and Bar has Valentine’s Day specials of a lobster dinner for $65 and a surf and turf dinner for $75.
The Clubhouse at Paradise Valley hosts 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. seatings, with live music by Connie Johns. Reservations are required for the $65 per person menu.
Moxies Valentine’s Day menu will be available until Feb. 16, and features fan favourites like the chipotle mango chicken and sticky toffee pudding.
D’Carlo Pasta House offers a custom chef designed three course menu for two, at $120 per couple.
Carlos Utrera, co-owner of D’Carlo, said that Valentine’s Day is a good time to support local businesses.
“It’s a good time to not only share your love, but share the aspect of community,” he said.

Friday at 8 p.m.
The historic Monarch Theatre is hosting a $5 movie night.
The Notebook, a romance flick, will be aired.
Doors open at 7 p.m. Friday evening, with showtime scheduled for 8 p.m.
Any two concession items are available for $5, according to an event description.
Janessa Anderson, member of the Monarch 1911 Society’s Board of Directors, said that the theatre wants to make sure that every time somebody comes through the doors it’s a nostalgic experience, whether that be for new couples or old.
“I definitely think with Valentine’s Day, it’s a time to obviously show love — and it doesn’t matter if it’s to a partner, to your co-worker, to your neighbor, to your friends,” she said.
“It’s just a great time to come around, and just be kind and love one another, and just have a good time.”
