Medicine Hat says residents still need to pay bills despite Canada Post disruption

Nov 15, 2024 | 11:15 AM

The City of Medicine Hat says residents are still responsible for paying their bills for the duration of a labour disruption caused by the Canada Post workers’ strike.

The city in a news release Friday suggested residents use its digital portal to make payments.

Utilities, taxes and accounts receivable can all be accessed through MedicineHat.ca/paperless.

Other payment options include telephone or internet banking, electronic funds transfer, dropping off cheques at the after-hours drop box at city hall or in-person at city hall between 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

No invoices will be delivered during the initial week of the postal disruption, the city said.

However, this will be reassessed as information regarding the length of the strike action becomes available.

Residents can call 403-529-8111 for help or email the city.
