Monday is a national holiday for Remembrance Day.
Here is what’s on during the weekend of Nov. 8-10 in Medicine Hat and area:

There are ceremonies, marches and services marking Remembrance Day on Monday in both Medicine Hat and Redcliff.
In Medicine Hat, a ceremony at the Esplanade Arts and Heritage Centre starts at 9:30 a.m., with doors opening at 8:30 a.m.
A parade procession starts at 10:30 a.m. in front of the Esplanade and heads to the Cenotaph at Veteran’s Memorial Park.
The Remembrance Day service gets starts at 11 a.m. at the Cenotaph.
Remembrance Day in Redcliff includes a march and ceremony.
Marchers will meet at the Redcliff Legion starting at 8:30 a.m. before marching on to Parkside School at 9:45 a.m., where a ceremony will start at 10 a.m.
That will be followed by a service at 11 a.m. at Redcliff’s Cenotaph.

The Medicine Hat Tigers are back in action for back-to-back home games this weekend.
The Tigers take on the Edmonton Oil Kings at 7 p.m. on Friday at Co-op Place.
On Saturday at 7 p.m., the Tigers play the Moose Jaw Warriors.
Elsewhere in the world of hockey, the Brooks Bandits take on the Okotoks Oilers at Centennial Regional Area Friday at 7 p.m.

Musician Soraya and DJ Ghooly are performing a free event at Corona Liquor and Bar on Saturday from 9 p.m. to 2 a.m.
Soraya’s goal is to create a multi-genre journey blending her roots, with hip hop, rap, and the realms of dubstep and drum and bass, organizers say.
GHOOLY is a dynamic DJ known for his electrifying sets that seamlessly blend UK garage and UK bass with heavy dub influences, house music, and classic club bangers, the event description says.

Medicine Hat’s Top Notch Custom Kreations is hosting a Christmas Tree Building event Friday at 6:30 p.m.
The class costs $75 and will last about 2.5 hours.
Participants will paint all the pieces, as well as sand, add stencils and attach them to make a tree.
The class has 12 open spots and to secure a spot those interested are required to send $20 deposit to shanocc@gmail.com in comments please specify what class you signed up for on transfer.
