It is with great sadness the family of Fredrick Beaupré announce his passing on September 20, 2024. He was predeceased by his wife, Jeanette, and will be lovingly remembered by sons Corey (Denise), Christopher (Vanessa) and grandchildren Erica, Ryan, Cameron, Chloe, Shaelyn and Brynna.
Fred was born in Medicine Hat, Alberta as the youngest of three boys, raised by his mother and attended school in Medicine Hat before joining the workforce. Although he experienced certain hardship in his formative years, it helped shape a resilient, hardworking man who enjoyed learning new skills.
He met his future wife, Jeanette, at a New Year’s social gathering in 1967. When he first saw the lovely young lady in a red dress, he said, “I’m going to marry that woman.” And so he did, for over 52 years until her passing in May 2021.
Fred was first employed by the City of Medicine Hat as a dedicated facilities employee before being recognized for his leadership skills and was promoted to management where he remained for several decades. He was often at the Medicine Hat Arena well after working hours, taking great care in preparing the venue for games and tournaments. In fact, Fred received the honour of being inducted into the Zamboni Hall of Fame prior to his retirement.
Fred and Jeanette proudly raised two sons, Corey and Christopher. The young couple first settled in Redcliff before moving permanently to the Crescent Heights area where they built a life surrounded by family and friends. Fred embraced the responsibility of providing for his young family, equipping them with advantages he didn’t have and building a stable platform to succeed. He spent quality time teaching Corey to fish and attending the boys’ busy extracurricular schedules. Fred was very active in the baseball coaching community leading several teams to City championships.
Fred loved travel and adventure. He was forever researching and dreaming of his next destination. Every summer, a family road trip to western Canada or the United States was planned.
Fred emphasized the importance of education to his sons and his cherished grandchildren. It was a priority for him to ensure they receive the advantages of a higher education. His greatest source of pride was celebrating the graduation of his grandchildren, including his two youngest granddaughters this past June. He encouraged all his grandchildren to continue down the lifelong path of learning.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, October 26, 2024, at PATTISON FUNERAL HOME & CELEBRATION OF LIFE CENTRE. Friends and family are welcome to attend.
