The Medicine Hat Tigers have traded Zach Zahara to the Wenatchee Wild for a pair of draft picks.

Zahara, originally drafted by the Tigers in the 8th round of the 2020 WHL draft, played in 33 games for the club since the 2021-22 season.

Willie Desjardins, general manager and head coach said they really appreciated the time Zach had spent with the Tigers.

“He has been a true professional,” Desjardins said.

“Our situation changed when we brought in [Harrison] Meneghin. As a result we had too many goalies and needed to make a move,” he added.

“We wish Zach all the best and thank him for his time in Medicine Hat.”

Coming back to the Tigers in the trade is an 8th round pick in 2025 and a 4th round pick in 2027.

Zahara also played two seasons with the South Alberta Hockey Academy U18 Prep team from 2021-2023.
