Ian Cale lives with a life-altering disease on a daily basis but a gift from Make-A-Wish Canada will allow him to connect with his friends and still experience fun in his childhood.

“It’s harder for him because he is more conscious about injuring himself,’ his mother Emily said.

“When he was younger, just basic running, catching things, would cause bleeds,” she added.

Those bleeds can put Ian on bedrest for days or weeks at a time, adn occasionally immobilized as well.

But the gift of a new supercharged gaming PC, two monitors and $300 in gift cards, Ian has a safe and fun way to connect and have fun.

Donna Serr, who coordinates Make-A-Wish gifting in Medicine Hat, said the wishes vary but the feeling remains the same.

“It’s just a real blessing to be a part of this organization, this charity, and to be able to bring happiness to a child and heir family,” Serr said.

Ian’s two words to Make-A-Wish: “thank you.”
