Lance Brost

Lance Stuart Brost passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 13, 2024, at the age of 92 years, beloved husband of Olive Brost (Schlinker) of Medicine Hat. Born on February 7, 1932 to Edward and Ida (Pfeifer) Brost and was raised in the Tothill area, receiving his education at the Feldman Lake School. For over 40 years Lance worked as a labourer at McDonald Consolidated and Medicine Hat Wholesale. He loved working in his garden and reading many many books. He also enjoyed baking bread, pies and making strawberry jam. For over 12 years, he was a member of a bowling league, was very competitive at playing cards, scrabble (6300 games) and dominoes. Camping took him and his family many places in Western Canada and the United States. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife Olive, four children Debbie McRae (Brad Kriwoken), Steve Brost (Sandra Hawkins), Lorrie Pandachuck (Jody) and Shelley George (Herb); his grandchildren April Robertson (Allan), Jerri Heaton (Dan), Chrystal Kuhn, Kory Brost (Caroline), Amber Schneider (Dillan), Wade Brost (Erin); nine great grandchildren, one great great grandchild; three sisters Ruby Mock, Florence Koenig, Shirley Elhart and his brother-in-law Ralph (Matilda) Schlinker. Lance was predeceased by his parents, son-in-law Stephen McRae, brothers Allan (Mabel), Jim, George and Gary Brost; his sister Irene; brothers-in-law Marvin Mock, Merle Koenig, Don Elhart, Homer Gobiel, Boyd Sadler, and Roy (Marion) Schlinker; his father and mother-in-law Fred and Olga (Rebman) Schlinker. The funeral service will be held in the PATTISON FUNERAL HOME & CELEBRATION OF LIFE CENTRE on Wednesday, July 24, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. Life Celebrant, David Townsend officiating.
