Surrounded by her family, Roseann Marie Martin of Medicine Hat, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 9, 2024, at the age 86 years, beloved wife of the late Thomas Martin. She leaves to cherish her memory her loving family: daughter Sara (Mike) Bernhart, grandchildren Dorien (Ashley, Theo) Bernhart, Mitchell Bernhart, Tom (Naomi) Martin, Christine Felt, Taylor Felt; daughter Tracy (Lyle) Martin, great-grandchildren Jayden Martin, Jaxon Martin; one sister Lorene Kilgore and numerous nieces and nephews. Roseann was born on August 15, 1937, to Frank and Josephine Sopczak on a farm close to Outlook, Saskatchewan. She attended the country school of Wheat Plains and in grade 11 attended a Convent in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan for one year; leaving a farm girl returning a young lady. Upon completing her Grade 12 at Outlook high school, she decided to move to Saskatoon to attend Business College. Following that she moved to Calgary and then to Toronto where she met Tom, whom she married on October 2, 1965. They then made their way back to the prairies and settled in Medicine Hat in 1980. Roseann worked various administration positions but Sears was the longest and where she retired from on September 30, 2002. Her love was her family which she never wavered to put first. She always made sure our friends were welcome and treated them as her own. Her greatest joy was taking care of her grandchildren. She always cooked great meals and was an accomplished baker. Always putting her family first. She will be deeply missed.
