Included will be a number of tasks like branding, doctoring, loading a cow in a trailer, roping, and other everyday ranch tasks during a timed event.

Brad Howe, chairman of the event, said it helps show people what things are like on the ranch.

“We came up with five ranches, some of them such as the Porter, Hargrave, Cavan, they have a long-standing history with the Medicine Hat Stampede already, and then we went out a little further, we came up with Maser and Vossler,” Howe said.

“A lot of these ranches have been in the same family for over 100 years.”

Howe adds the winner of the competition will get a championship buckle and bragging rights.

It all gets started at 12:30 p.m. on Friday and is expected to last a few hours.

Entry to watch is included with gate admission to the grounds.
