Saturday, July 13
The annual Chili Cook-off, hosted by the Southeast Alberta Chamber of Commerce and the Downtown Collective is taking place Saturday.
Bowl sales will start at 11 a.m. and run until 1 p.m. It is $5 for a regular bowl and $10 for a pottery bowl.
The siren starts for tastings at 11:30 a.m.
There will be free face painting, free bouncy castle and an open chalk area. Live music will be available at various locations and there will be a free movie playing — the Sandlot — at the Monarch theatre.
The event is taking place at intersection of Second Street and Sixth Avenue downtown Medicine Hat.

Saturday, July 13
There’s lots going on at Elkwater in Cypress Hills Provincial Park on Saturday for most of the day.
There will be a craft market from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. featuring over 15 vendors and a slip and slide at the Learning Centre from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
A barbecue, at a cost of $5, will run from 4:45 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Community Hall.
There will also be fireworks at night.

This one’s for the equestrians.
The Heritage Gather is running all weekend at the Dunmore Equestrian Grounds.
There will be a rodeo at 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday nights, pow wow demonstrations with the Wild Tongues Drum Group at 6 p.m. Friday and Saturday and barrel racing and team roping jackpots 10 a.m. on Sunday.
There’s also kids rope making, wagon rides and beer gardens all weekend, according to organizers.

Historical walking tours continue this weekend.
The tours this year feature character actors for the first time as a way to bring Medicine Hat’s history to life.

Friday, July 12
Travois Ale Works is hosting a cask night on Friday in its taproom at 4 p.m. to tap the Arizona style lager flavoured with “green tea, honey and ginseng”, while supplies last.

Saturday, July 13
Every Sunday, rain or shine, local Corvette owners are meeting in the Medicine Hat Mall parking lot across from the Wendy’s fast food restaurant before cruising to the Irvine Hotel.
The group also plans on doing road trips and helping out loca charities.

Sunday, July 14
Food truck frenzy is back this Sunday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Kin Coulee Park.
