A water main that ruptured in the Town of Redcliff on Tuesday has since been isolated with repairs planned when crews are available, officials told CHAT News.

The 300 millimetre water pipe broke at the intersection of Main Street South and Eighth Avenue Southeast, according to the town.

Customers in the surrounding area have experienced discolouration in their tap water, according to resident posts on social media.

The town said the discolouration is due to valve acuation and pipe scouring.

“Measures have been taken to slow the flor of the leak and the repair completed as soon as possible,” the town said in a statement Tuesday morning.

Please run your cold water taps if you experience any discolouration, the town said.
