Michael Maurer of Medicine Hat, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 29, 2024, at the age of 81 years. He leaves to cherish his memory three sisters, Rose (Bill) Webster, Marian (George) Kuhl and Darlene (David) Romanchuk; one brother, Joe Janisch as well as numerous nieces, nephews and their families. He was predeceased by his parents, Michael Maurer and Rose Janisch. Michael was born on December 11, 1942, in Romania. He received his schooling in Aylmer, Ontario and was later employed with Goodyear. His hobbies were all sports related: baseball/slowpitch, hockey, golf and bowling. He coached fastball, loved to garden and was a member of the Goodyear Slowpitch team. Over the years Michael belonged to various golf clubs and was a mixed bowling champion. His family would like to thank Home Care, the Wellington staff and the staff of 4West for taking such good care of Michael. The funeral service will be held in the PATTISON FUNERAL HOME & CELEBRATION OF LIFE CENTRE on Tuesday, June 4, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. with Life Celebrant, David Townsend officiating.
