The newly formed Prairie Pride Guild of Medicine Hat and District braved the light rain yesterday evening to celebrate the International Day Against Homophobia and Transphobia.

15 friends and members of the group celebrated by conducting a litter clean-up in the surrounding area of Finlay Bridge and Riverside. 10 bags of litter was collected.

In a statement provided to CHAT News, organizer Kim Large said that the day is meant to commemorate the day that the World Health Organization removed homosexuality from the list of mental illnesses in 1990.
