Pet emergency readiness campaign launches ahead of wildfire season

The Animal Food Bank is working to ensure pets and their owners are prepared for the unexpected with the Pet Emergency Readiness Campaign in recognition of Emergency Preparedness Week, and the potential threat of wildfires and other emergencies.

The organization is highlighting the importance of having a pet evacuation/emergency pack ready in case of an emergency.

Recommended items include food, water, medications, veterinary records, and comfort items for pets.

The Animal Food Bank is launching the Pet Evac Pack fundraiser.

For every Pet Evac Pack sold, a $20 donation will be made to the Animal Food Bank Emergency Pet Fund to provide critical assistance to pet owners in need during emergencies.

Animal Food Bank founder Nicole Frey said that by being prepared pet owners can ensure the safety and well-being of their pets during a time of crisis.

“Disaster can happen at any moment, and it’s crucial for pet owners to have a plan in place to protect their furry family members,” Frey said.

“Through our Pet Emergency Readiness Campaign and Pet Evac Pack fundraiser, we’re empowering pet owners to take proactive steps towards ensuring the safety and well-being of their pets during emergencies.”
