Alberta, Canada governments investing in high-speed internet for rural, Indigenous areas
The province is providing funds to bring high speed internet to over 22 thousand homes in Alberta.
The Alberta and Canadian governments are investing more than $112 million to connect more than 22,500 homes across the province to broadband internet.
Nate Glubish, Minister of Technology and Innovation said, “Improving access to high-speed internet will level the playing field. I’m confident that we are on track to achieving our goal of connecting every single Alberta household to high-speed internet by 2027.”
Through Alberta’s Broadband Strategy, the government is investing $390 million over five years in rural broadband service. They say it is to help Albertans stay connected, support their livelihoods, and improve access to education and healthcare.
