Professional bull riding returning to Medicine Hat in October

Professional bull riding is making a return to Medicine Hat this fall.

The top-level Cup Series for a third time will buck into the city on Oct. 19 for the Medicine Hat Classic.

Tickets for the event go on sale Friday, March 1 at 12 p.m. and start at $35. Tickets can be purchased at Co-op Place and The Esplanade by phone at 403 502 8580 or online at Tixx.ca.

For one night only, fans will witness exhilarating eight-second rides and wrecks throughout the unpredictable, action-packed event as the PBR’s courageous bull-riding athletes face off against their 2,000-pound opponents, organizers said in a news release Monday.

The PBR Medicine Hat Classic will mark the ninth event of the 10-event regular season for PBR Canada’s premier Cup Series in 2024.

When the Cup Series last travelled to Medicine Hat in October 2023, Jordan Hansen (Amisk, Alberta) went a perfect 2-for-2 to win the PBR Medicine Hat Classic and crack the Top 10 in the heated national championship race.

The bull riding action for the Medicine Hat Classic begins at 7 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 19.
