Janet Simpson of Medicine Hat passed away suddenly on Tuesday, January 16, 2024, at the age of 68 years. She was born to Jim and Pearl Rodermond in 1955, and raised in the farming community of Leslieville, AB. Janet attended David Thompson High School and began her office career after moving to Medicine Hat where she attended Garbutt Business College. This is also where she married Charlie Simpson in 1981. Janet had three children: Katrina, James and Jessica. With a strong work ethic and sharp mind, she excelled at accounting and liked reading and puzzles. Janet spent the golden years of her life with her partner, Brian Bowery. They enjoyed their retirement together, traveling and living a peaceful life. Janet is predeceased by her parents and her brother, Michael. She is survived by her partner, children, brother Ernest (Judy) Rodermond and many friends and relatives. A Celebration of Janet’s life will be held at Cook Southland Funeral Chapel, 901 – 13 Street S.W., Medicine Hat on Friday, January 26, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Murray Jaster officiating. Interment will follow at the Redcliff Cemetery with a time of fellowship thereafter in the Cook Southland Reception Facility. The Chapel Service will be live streamed.
