Redcliff Mounties collecting donations for Root Cellar today

REDCLIFF — What’s becoming an annual event in Redcliff unfolds today, as members of the RCMP detachment gather to stuff their cruisers with donations for those who need them most this holiday season.

This will be the third year the RCMP and Redcliff Family Foods have combined on this effort.

But unlike the past two years, the weather this time looks much more favourable, as the first two food drives took place during extreme cold weather alerts.

Staff Sgt. Michael Courty says members and staff understand the need to help, especially at this time of the year.

He’s hoping people in the area will continue to extend kindness and make someone’s holiday a little less stressful.

The Stuff the Cruiser event runs from 1 to 6 pm tomorrow at Redcliff Family Foods on Broadway avenue.

The drive is in support of the Root Cellar Food and Wellness Hub.
