MEDICINE HAT, AB – The Friends of the Medicine Hat Library Society is asking for donations ahead of its annual book sale fundraiser.

The sale, running Nov. 17 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Nov. 18 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., will feature thousands of books for readers of all ages, levels and interests, organizers said.

Those interested in donating gently-used books, DVDs or CDs can drop items off at tables located on the Medicine Hat Public Library‘s lower level behind the theatre during open hours.

Money raised through the book sale will be used by the library to purchase materials and run programs.

“The Friends of the Library book sale is an important event for the library and the community,” chief librarian Ken Feser said in a statement.

“It provides extra revenue for the library and provides a new home for our old books that have been removed from our collection. It is also much loved and anticipated by the community. Book sale days are among our busiest days of the year.”

The library society hosts one or two book sales each year. Organizers said to watch for the next sale in the spring of 2024.
