Province reports 30 overdose deaths in Medicine Hat in first eight months of 2023
LETHBRIDGE, AB – A new report from the Government of Alberta shows people are continuing to die as a result of drug use.
The Alberta Substance Use Surveillance System has been updated to show numbers up to the end of August 2023.
In the first 8 months of 2023 in Medicine Hat, there have been 30 people who have died from drug overdoses. In Lethbridge, 94 people have died during the same time period.
It is also more than the entirely of 2022, which, at the time, represented a new record for the most fatal drug overdoses in Lethbridge at 77.
