Terry Schmunk
December 25, 1953 ~ November 2, 2023
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Terry Schmunk. He died suddenly from a heart attack in the late hours of the night, November 2nd. Terry had a colorful personality with a clever sense of humor. His contagious laugh could be heard often while with his group of friends and family. He had a lot of love within him to give, but he didn’t give it away for free. Those who were close to him knew that he would do anything for them and that he appreciated a good friendship above all else. In his early life, Terry worked for Canadian Fertilizer. He made the switch into entrepreneurship and started a landscaping business which turned into a success. He put his heart and soul into his business, and he was very proud. Terry suffered some hardships throughout his life, losing his oldest son at the age of 18, and his wife Susan, a few years later. Terry and his son, Andy, did their best to pick up the pieces and move on, but it was always hard. Terry found companionship with his partner, Alicia. The two of them travelled, while enjoying retirement. He also enjoyed working on old vehicles, tinkering around his shop, and watching a good show. Terry had a love for motorcycles, 60’s music, and visiting his friends and family. We will miss his passionate story telling, his opinions of everything, and his Terry-like sense of humor. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, 238 – 2 Avenue N.E., Medicine Hat on Thursday, November 9, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. with Father Roque Pereira celebrant.
